Boy, Friday came QUICK this week! Somewhere between the development of a brand new
layout for the weekend drop and the MASSIVE slab of concrete we cut and removed from the shop floor we lost track of what day it was. Nothing like a productive week, though, and this one was surely that.
We kicked off the week the same way we usually do. Although Labor Day commemorates the hardworking individuals that built & sustain this nation, in classic American-worker fashion, the shop guys still wanted to come in as usual. That kicked things off with a productive air, although Baker Boss took the opportunity for a quick overnight camping trip with wife & kids.
We launched an ambitious Labor Day Sale beginning Monday and decided to ride it out through Tuesday. Although these sales surely help us by clearing off the stock shelves ahead of the new shipping center opening, it really does feel good to offer a variety of our products to maker’s at a discounted rate. Afterall, it’s what y’all do with the steel that truly makes it special. We hope you took the chance to snag a few different bars that will fuel current and future products, and as always, we hope you’ll tag us on social media during your journey.
Our new 750lb ram Chambersburg power-hammer needed an independent and heavily fortified foundation in the Baker HQ, which opened another opportunity for a little redneck ingenuity. With advance consideration from our well-educated team, we chose the route of cutting the slab to size and affixing plats and lags to lift the slab, whole, using our on-site forklift. Sounds crazy, huh? It is, but so are we. And it worked like a CHARM. Quickly following, we began digging for the more than 8 foot wide and 11 foot deep hole that will soon provide a footprint for the life-changing hammer. One week a year, several of the key team members generally land on a week to take with the family, knock out a quick vacation, or just catch up on at-home things. Next week happens to be that week, although our Media Team and CFO Bruce will remain at the Baker HQ to fulfill orders and keep the ball rolling on social media. As a result, there will be no drop next week. Rest assured; we will be back with a fervent excitement for what we do, and with our plans already in the works for the break-following drop, let the excitement build a little. Jay and the boys have something GREAT to release upon their return….
