Ah, Friday!
A welcomed wind-down from a busy week. Something about the snow and cold temperatures that have recently struck our little mountain town have us thankful for a nice warm place to work and homes to return to each night.

This week began as we might have expected. When you host this many old machines, you prepare yourself to engage in plenty of repairs and maintenance. When our primary Blanchard cried out for some attention to start the week, we knew it might be a multi-day affair. Thanks to a well rounded and critically-thinking staff, these hurdles only advance our knowledge of our machines, and empower us in our ability to solve even the largest of problems.
While Shop Lead, Jay and Baker Boss, Coy spent two full days bogged down and covered in Blanchard sludge, the rest of the BF staff kicked ass on the weekend drop, bringing you something unique for this week’s end. A fitting example of how our well-rounded staff can overcome obstacles and maintain the expected load of production regardless of the week’s challenges.
Perhaps as a form of escape from the trials of an aging machine, our Head of Media, Waylon caught Jay enjoying a little HQ parking lot snow with a donut or two while leaving work, a scene that has become all too familiar with our band of truck clad steel junkies since the heavy snow began falling in the Appalachias. Can’t blame them, can ya?

We announced the official opening of pre-orders on the Tobin RM-1 Rolling Mill this week, a milestone for this new offering. Not only do we believe this compact and powerful machine will make waves in the knife making community, we are thrilled to be involved in its new availability to US Makers.
Even if you aren’t yet ready to drop the cash for this beast, we encourage you to check out our recent YouTube video where Jay & Coy put the RM-1 through the ringer, testing out its limits and previewing the multitude of advantages you stand to gain by bringing the Tobin into your production. You can check out the full video here.
If you’re already sold on the Tobin Rolling Mill’s potential for YOU, pre-order & check out all the details here.

Lately our resident camera guy, Waylon has had his hands full. Between the load of Baker Studio work steadily streaming through the HQ, the push to produce more long-form featuring our recent innovations, and the daily social media obligations, Waylon has been killing the obligations and continues to impress in all facets of his job. We don’t often take a moment to brag on our behind-the-scenes guys, but it takes a team to keep this thing going, and this week has been a great reminder of that key.
Lately, our Monday Question Video on social media has been a HIT. We couldn't be more pleased to start each week with an engaging conversation, often knife-making related. Our community is as vibrant as ever, and scrolling through the wealth of comments and enjoying discussion within the post has become a highlight to start the week. It isn’t always easy to come up with a creative and challenging question, but when we stumble upon just the right one, we appreciate the sense of collaboration that abounds.
